I remember that John Jenkins had the worst crush on me and not only followed me around school but had Garth and Gunner like lookouts to tell him where I was every moment. I always told him he was just a good friend, which drove him crazy. When I heard he died, I cried so hard. In the end, he was a sweet friend to me, forever doting from afar. I wish now I had at least gone with him for ice cream one day. But the funniest thing that happened was one day when I was in Fassbinder park, leaning on a tree and he came up, walking his dog. It was a pitbull, I think. We smiled at each other, the dog walked up to me and peed on me -- I think it was secretly John's revenge, but he always felt terrible about his dog doing that to me. I will miss him.
Johnny & my sister were each other’s 1st love, and then he married my 1st cousin. I gave him his last haircut the day before he died. He died in a late night motorcycle accident out by Baker’s Bridge, 1999).
Johnny Jenkins
To all us gals Johnny was quite the charming man
To all his friends, always willing To lend a hand He touched the hearts of all he Knew Made u feel like his best friend was u He had a zest 4 life, embracing each new day Full speed ahead was always Johnny’s way He told me once that he wasn't afraid 2 die And that God was saving a spot 4 him Beyond the vast blue sky Johnny walks among the Angels now He has his place n the sun He told them all that they could relax & he'd show them how it's done.
